Description

Podcasts are popular and still growing, so they are a great way to reach people with information about dog training and pet behaviour, and to build a profile for yourself and your business. 55% of Americans aged 12 or over listen to at least one podcast in a month, as do 39% of adult English-speaking Canadians. The average podcast listener enjoys 7.7 hours of podcasts every month. We’ll take an encouraging look at the basics you need to get started, from equipment to editing, hosting, and promotion. Podcasts can be solo, with a co-host, and/or with guests, and they can be more or less scripted, so we’ll consider the options and how to pick the format that works for you. Many podcasters give up in the early days, with only 43% reaching the milestone of 8 episodes (or fewer, depending where you get your stats). So what does it take to be successful—and what, realistically, does success look like? And should you be on Youtube too? If you’re thinking of starting a pet pod, this is how to get to episode 8 and beyond. Learning Objectives Understand how podcasts can be used to reach pet parents and to amplify your business Pick the podcast format that will work for you Evaluate tech needs, from easy basics to a professional approach Define a launch plan and build a community around your podcast
